FRIENDS OF THE ISRAEL DEFENSE FORCES
Standing behind our soldiers in times of war and peace. Delivering a message of love, support and appreciation to the brave young men and women who defend Israel.
The strength of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), which has been guarding the State of Israel since it declared independence in 1948, derives from the selfless determination and great capabilities of its soldiers.
At the age of 18, these courageous young people join the IDF, promising to uphold the difficult tasks of defending the State of Israel and guaranteeing the safety of those who reside within its borders. Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) has assumed the responsibility of providing these soldiers with love and support in an effort to ease the burden they carry on behalf of the Jewish community worldwide.
In 1981, FIDF was created as a nonprofit organization, fulfilling David Ben-Gurion’s vision for an American pillar of support for Israel’s soldiers. FIDF was founded as a tax-exempt organization with the mission of providing and supporting social, educational, cultural, and recreational programs and facilities for the IDF soldiers and their families. FIDF operates out of 14 branches across the United States and Latin America. The soldiers of Israel are – first and foremost – our children. Thanks to the dedicated supporters of FIDF, our soldiers know they never stand alone.
